Anton RAFETSEDER, born on 2 January 1908 in Freienstein near Melk, was a Jehovah’s Witness, a baker by trade, and married to Emma, who had a child on 4 March 1939 in Salzburg: Daughter Emma.

The 32-year-old father of the family and brother-in-law of Josef GÖLS, who also refused military service for reasons of faith, was deported to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp on March 2, 1940 and murdered there on April 29, 1940.

The widow and her daughter Emma survived the persecutions.

As a survivor in liberated Austria, the daughter was entitled to victim welfare.
